DOL Resumes FLAG Portal Operations Amid Ongoing Government Shutdown

As of late Friday, October 31, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) confirmed the Foreign Labor Application Gateway (FLAG) portal is now operational and that the Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) has resumed application processing, even as the broader government shutdown remains in effect.

This means employers and their counsel may once again file and track LCAs, Prevailing Wage Requests, and PERM applications through the FLAG system, and that DOL has resumed adjudicating pending cases across programs. Because the FLAG portal was down for the entire month of October, we can expect some initial processing delays as DOL works through the backlog from the shutdown period.

Other federal agencies affected by the shutdown may continue to experience operational disruptions, and we will provide further updates as new information becomes available.
