Brazil Added to List of Countries with Restrictions on Entering U.S.
May 27, 2020
On May 24, President Trump issued a Proclamation restricting entry to the U.S. of all nonimmigrants and immigrants who were physically present in Brazil in the 14 day period preceding their entry to the U.S.
Exempt from this order are U.S. citizens, people who already are U.S. permanent residents, spouses of U.S. citizens and permanent residents, and certain other categories.
This proclamation adds Brazil to the list of countries with restrictions: China, Iran, the Schengen Area, the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. Travel from Mexico and Canada is also restricted for “non-essential” travelers.
