WSM and AILA Attorneys Working Towards Immigration Reform

On Thursday, April 10, WSM attorneys Lisa Baker Jones and Stephanie Smith, AILA NorCal Chapter Chair and AILA NorCal advocacy co-coordinator, respectively, attended AILA's National Day of Action in Washington, DC. Along with other AILA leaders, they met with the offices of Senators Feinstein and Boxer, and House of Representatives staff from the offices of Swalwell, Huffman, Denham, Matsui, Pelosi, Nunes, Lofgren, LaMalfa, McClintock, McNerney, Valadao and Speier, whose districts range from the Central Valley to the Oregon border.
While passage of comprehensive immigration reform in the House of Representatives is unlikely, some insiders suggest we can expect piecemeal legislation or administrative relief in the form of a Presidential executive order.
