2016 DV Lottery to Begin October 1 and ends November 3

The State Department has just provided instructions for this year’s DV lottery.
What you need to know:
- Natives of the following countries are NOT eligible: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (mainland-born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland), and its dependent territories and Vietnam.
- Remember that a spouse from one of the above countries may use the nationality of her or his spouse to show eligibility. The government’s FAQ’s on eligibility and cross-charging nationality in the instructions provide helpful guidance.
