Visa Applicants Can Now Check Status Online

Now that the Department of State has introduced "Visa Status Check," applicants for both immigrant and nonimmigrant visas can check the status of their pending visa applications online. The new status-check function is part of the DOS' Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC), and can be found here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx
The user selects either "immigrant visa" or "nonimmigrant visa," selects the U.S. Consulate or Embassy location where the application was made, enters the application ID or case number, and then hits "submit" to check on the status of the visa application.
