State Department Announces No More Permanent Visas Available Until October 1st

October 8, 2010

Last week, on September 15, 2010, the State Department notified the USCIS that it had used up all family and employment based visa numbers for the rest of the fiscal year ending September 30, except for the EB-1 employment based first preference category. Individuals can still file adjustment of status applications for the remainder of September if their visas were current according to the September Visa Bulletin released in mid August. Starting October 1, the USCIS will resume final adjudication on applicable adjustment of status cases.
