Revised M-274 Handbook for Employers Released

With the USCIS' release yesterday of the revised M-274 Handbook for Employers (PDF), employers can get the most up-to-date guidance on completing Form I-9, the employment eligibility verification form required for all new hires. The revised M-274 handbook, a free resource available in conveniently searchable PDF form, comes on the heels of the USCIS releasing a revised, two-page Form I-9 (PDF) on March 8. All employers must begin using the new version of the I-9 by May 8 at the latest. Among the changes are new fields for the employee's foreign passport information, phone number and email address.
