Partner Laura J. Mazel Publishes Op Ed in SF Recorder

November 8, 2013

In a November 4 Viewpoint article published by the San Francisco Recorder, WSM Partner Laura J. Mazel argues that this year's U.S. Nobel Prize winners, four out of five born outside the U.S., reflect the tenacity and grit of all immigrants. Ms. Mazel reflects on her many years representing scientists, and finds that it is really not surprising that 35% of all "U.S." Nobel Laureate winners in the sciences have been immigrants – these highly talented individuals possessed a drive to work hard, take risks, leave familiar surroundings (sometimes by choice, sometimes not) and improve the world, making the need for comprehensive immigration reform this year a no-brainer.
