Flora Houn Hoffman has extensive experience advising companies on the intricacies of business immigration law. Prior to joining WSM, Ms. Hoffman was a managing partner with an international immigration firm, where she worked with Fortune 500 companies and start-ups to establish, maintain and improve immigration policies and procedures. She has successfully implemented comprehensive proactive compliance programs in a variety of industries.

Ms. Hoffman’s strength lies in assembling and managing large teams and fashioning systems to help clients most efficiently administer their immigration caseloads. She has had particular success in obtaining EB1 green cards for researchers and individuals of extraordinary ability. Ms. Hoffman has provided in-depth immigration law training to numerous human resource and legal professionals. Ms. Hoffman’s interests in travel and storytelling combined to steer her toward a career in immigration law, where she thrives on giving voice to each client's immigration and professional history. Her own parents immigrated from northern China using special student visas in the 1950s. She has two daughters, each of whom has her own immigration story. One boasts grandparents from China and Moldova; the younger made her journey to America using an “immediate relative” visa by way of an orphanage in Chongqing, China. Prior to practicing law, Ms. Hoffman worked in the publishing industry in New York and with a high-technology start up company in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She lives with her family in Saratoga, CA.
